Coach DavidDavid was born in Southern California and was raised in a Christian cult. While this upbringing instilled a love for the Lord in him, it also left him with some challenging issues. The abuse remained unknown for years, but as he grew up, its effects began to surface and needed to be addressed. After his daughter’s mother struggled with drug addiction and accumulated three felonies and 15 misdemeanors within two weeks, David was awarded custody of their daughter. She went through a diversion program, found the Lord, and got saved. Two years later, they started dating again, and David was moved to restore his relationship with the Lord and get baptized. They have been married for almost four years and have leaned on the Lord every step of the way.
Coach JDJ.D.’s life is centered around faith, family, and service. From a young age, he found solace and purpose in his relationship with the Lord, dedicating himself to faithfully serving in his church’s music ministry. His deep-rooted spirituality permeates every aspect of his life, guiding his actions and shaping his values. Despite facing hardships, such as the loss of his father a few years ago, J.D. remains steadfast in his faith and resilient in the face of adversity. He draws strength from his belief and finds comfort in the support of his loved ones. Professionally, J.D. is a respected figure in the field of senior care. With roles ranging from consultant to administrator to corporate risk manager, he brings a compassionate and diligent approach to his work, ensuring the well-being and safety of the elderly community he serves. Living in southern California allows J.D. to engage in almost unlimited outdoor activities. In his spare time, he indulges in his favorite activities, including snowboarding, hunting, fishing, and mountain biking. He also finds joy in simpler pleasures like spending quality time with his family, backpacking across Catalina Island, and coaching both of his sons’baseball teams.
Coach David V.David V. dedicated 20 years of his life to the field of law enforcement. During his tenure, he supervised a SWAT Team and a group of high-producing detectives in a plainclothes unit. David was involved in numerous sensitive and complex investigations, high-risk situations, critical incidents, and officer-involved shootings. His career took a severe toll physically, mentally, and emotionally, causing permanent, life-altering injuries. As a result, David’s life would be forever changed. Seeking a new purpose, he found the Lord through his restored faith.
Born and raised in the Central Valley of California, David recently retired from law enforcement. He and his wife have been married for 15 years and have two children. He is an avid outdoorsman with a passion for hunting and fishing. David’s mission is to help other First Responders navigate the day-to-day trauma their “calling” bestowed on them and to live a healthy and fulfilled life outside the confines of their career. He is hopeful that by speaking his truth and shedding light on the effects of the field, any man can, restore his faith in the Lord and be saved.
Coach DanielleDanielle is a former atheist and bisexual. She used to attend rallies protesting religion in Washington D.C., holding signs over her head that read "Good without God." After experiencing divorce, an eating disorder, and a decade of family estrangement, she realized that life wasn't good without God. Once she humbly sought the Lord, Jesus radically changed her life. Now, she is remarried and is serving with her husband as a ReEngage marriage leader at their local church. She also serves as a Stephen Minister, where she received intensive training in lay Christian counseling. Professionally, Danielle is a Veteran with over a decade of service, including two deployments. Most recently, she worked as a mediator and conflict resolution instructor. Now, she is focused on raising her young son and supporting her husband. In her free time, she enjoys playing board games and studying Latin.
Coach NickNick grew up in a culturally Christian household, attending and participating in church life throughout his youth and early adulthood. His lifestyle did not, however, mesh with the values of his Christian upbringing. He struggled with pornography and lustful desires, drunkenness, heavy cannabis use, as well as partaking in other illicit substances. He moved to Delaware for work and lived with a staunch atheist for over a year. During this time, his Christian worldview was challenged at a level that shook the understanding of his faith. Thus began his journey back toward God. Soon after meeting his now-wife Danielle, a new Christian, he realized he was not living a life that honored God. He has since reclaimed his identity in Christ, being freed of the chains of his past sin, shifting his desires toward the service of the Kingdom. He serves in leadership at his local church’s ReEngage marriage ministry and men’s group. Nick is certified in mediation and has completed intensive training in lay Christian counseling through Stephen Ministries. He enjoys biking, reading, and walking with his young son in his free time.
